Taron Egerton has shared his version of Elton John’s “Rocket Man” ahead of the release of the musical biopic of the same name. Billboard reports that a music video released on Wednesday features footage of the actor performing the song in a recording studio, alongside footage of him portraying John in the film. Egerton also said in a radio interview on Wednesday that he was not aiming to do an impersonation of John while covering his songs. “I think there's moments in the film when I capture Elton a little more than others,” he said, citing the songs “Your Song” and “I’m Still Standing” as examples. “But there are moments where, because of where it sits in the film, it's more difficult to do that, because it's not naturalistic.” The full soundtrack for the film drops on May 24, while the movie hits theaters on May 31.
